Vessel - Concept

Design Approach Our design method aims to enhance the seriousness of the project, clearly referencing the great historical avant-garde movements. Those experiences, born from the labors and insights of the masters, generated new worldviews and new aesthetic references that we can enjoy today. My personal sensitivity has led me to choose as my reference visions of purity and simplicity of thought, in harmony with my nature, without the need for external motivations. Concreteness and decisiveness, clear and defined ideas, are the foundation of this path.

VESSEL Space The first project is the VESSEL space (a name inspired by the sea, a tribute to its origins). Materials: Natural galvanized iron for the metal structures, okumé panels for the wood finishes. Character: A closed, reassuring space with enveloping paneling, resembling a plaza, accommodating various functions. Possible functions: meditation (yoga), play (children and toys), tidying up (bags and objects), or simply a sculptural presence. Structure: Metal frame with exposed screws and bolts, constructed with readily available components, disassembled and recognizable, clearly referencing Meccano. The VESSEL Collection From this initial experience, an entire collection of conceptual furnishing elements was born: TANK → chair space MECANO 180 and 60 → table space …and other objects. These structures have a life of their own: they do not require human use to have meaning. They are not "furniture" in the commercial sense, but rather furniture ideas. A table that is not a table, but an idea of a table. The creative approach is free, similar to that of a painter who creates a work following an impulse, without market analysis or commercial constraints. These are therefore conceptual pieces of furniture that could be transformed into commercial products with minimal modifications, without compromising their original spirit. The URBS Collection Alongside VESSEL, the URBS collection was born, currently represented by a single product: the URBANO stool. Material: Steel only. Shapes: Simple geometric elements (cylinders, parallelepipeds) assembled or stacked. Characteristic: The objects oscillate between two interpretative scales. The stool, composed of nine cylinders and a rectangular top, can also evoke an urban residential complex with towers and a hanging garden. Steel ensures the structural function on both scales, maintaining conceptual continuity. Design Principles Each object is composed of essential elements: no decoration, no arbitrariness. Everything is reduced to the essential and to the maximum degree of dematerialization. No surfaces or textures: what matters is structure, not appearance. In a world that today often appears bland and dull, design research must return to substance, thought, and essence.

Eco-sustainability

DEMATERIALIZATION The structures of our products are reduced to the essentials, creating objects that are the ultimate expression of a design based on the philosophy of dematerialization. The most significant example is the VESSEL bed, composed of an exposed painted iron frame and aesthetically pleasing panels just 2 cm thick. DURABLE AESTHETICS AND TECHNICAL RESISTANCE The revival of craftsmanship enhances its aesthetic quality. The longevity of the VESSEL bed, for example, will no longer be tied to the rapid passing of fashions, but will be based on deeper and more concrete parameters. The longer its lifespan, the longer the need for additional raw materials to replace it, resulting in a lower environmental impact. ALBORNO products are highly resistant and therefore durable. RECYCLABILITY In nature, substances circulate, transform, and everything is ultimately reabsorbed and reused. ALBORNO has focused on the simplest and most complete recyclability of its products, designing them so that their components are easily identifiable and separable for disposal. One example is the VESSEL bed, which is completely disassembled.
