Pool project for Hotel Villa Elisa in Bordighera and study for the construction of a new suite - 2023 - completed
1. Context and Current Status The project involves the modification of an existing hotel-owned swimming pool located on a dedicated terrace north of the main building. The current blue, kidney-shaped pool is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and is surrounded by terracotta paving. The terrace features several citrus trees, which will be maintained and enhanced. Beneath the terrace is an existing utility room, which will be maintained and slightly expanded to accommodate the new system (see attached design drawings). 2. Project Objectives The project aims to: Construct a new 12 x 6 m rectangular swimming pool, designed to adapt to the geometry of the existing pool and recovering part of the existing excavation. Improve the pool's integration into the hotel's landscape and architectural context. Upgrade and upgrade the utility room to accommodate the new system. Renovate the areas surrounding the pool, improving its functionality and usability. 3. Project Description 3.1 Pool Shape: Rectangular (12 x 6 m). Edge: Infinity pool on two sides. Surface: Sand-colored. System type: Saltwater. The new pool integrates with the existing structure, maintaining the existing vegetation and recovering part of the original excavation. 3.2 Outdoor Areas Paving: Replacement of the existing terracotta with non-slip, stone-effect porcelain stoneware. Flowerbeds: Will be modified and leveled, maintaining and integrating the existing vegetation. Rest areas: Provided to ensure guest comfort and usability. 3.3 Utility Room Adjacent to the existing, previously authorized utility room. Slightly expanded to accommodate the new pool system. 4. Landscape Integration and Visual Impact The project was designed to minimize the impact on the surrounding landscape: The simple and rigorous form of the new pool, combined with appropriate colors and consistent paving, contributes to a harmonious and orderly appearance. The existing vegetation will be maintained and, where necessary, integrated to ensure aesthetic continuity and visual mitigation. 5. Conclusions The project represents a functional and landscape redevelopment of the hotel's pool terrace, without negatively altering the surrounding environment. The project improves the building's integration into its surroundings, while ensuring comfort and safety for guests.
